On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the “Revolutionary Autumn” and theme of the year “Reformation and Politics 2014” within the framework of the “Lutheran Decade”, the congregation – Gemeinde am Weinberg – reflects the role of the church within the community in general and in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) in particular with a series of events.
The event-series „Spaces of Resistance – Peaceful Revolution: “Here I stand” wants to elaborate on the manifold implementations and manifestations of resistance against dictatorial forms of government in the past and thus encourage finding such kinds of commitment and political involvement today.
On every 7th of a month, doors to special locations of the Peaceful Revolution will be opened in moderated “Talk Salons”. On July 7th we will visit the former convictorium, aka theological convict of Berlin, (Sprachenkonvikt).
